We are incredibly grateful to Mariah and her amazing team for their ongoing support of the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group. They have been working hard in the Arizona heat to help make our property and our wild rescues safer through important fire-abatement efforts, because our property is at great risk right next to the 87.

When their schedules allow, they show up with tools, smiles, and a willingness to work. Together they have removed dried grasses, underbrush, and dead tree limbs that could become dangerous fuel during fire season. A fire in this area could quickly spread toward the nearby Tonto National Forest, making this work especially important.

While the snakes have thankfully stayed away, the team has certainly battled cactus pricks, sweat, and sore muscles along the way. Their dedication, generosity, and community spirit mean so much to all of us.
