A Salt River River wild horse who has beat all the odds

Here’s an update on Diamond:

Diamond would have died a slow terrible death in the wild, because he got his hoof stuck in a cattleguard. In his attempts to free himself, he ripped his hoof off, yes completely off. We were advised by veterinarians to euthanize him, which was not unreasonable, because he had only a bloody stump of only half a coffin bone left.

No one believed he could grow an entire hoof back,.. but we did. Here he is today, proving how tough wild horses really are. He may not act so wild anymore, but that doesn’t make his life any less happy. Diamond loves to be pampered, he loves to run with Pacman and Rosco, and he loves his sponsors, because without them, his happily ever after would not be possible.

Covid19 has hit the SRWHMG hard and we need more sponsors for our rescues. We have not caught up yet, and we are hoping that this fundraiser will reach more people than our regular supporters, who already give so much. Just farrier services every 6 weeks costs $ 80 per horse times 16 Salt River Rescues, plus 3 abandoned horse rescues, plus moma April, that comes to 20 horses x $80 = $1600! (And that is not counting the food they eat or regular supplies they require!)

We hope that you can help us keep the rescues together and give them sanctuary.

Here are the 10 easy ways you can make a difference 🐴:

We are an accredited 501(c)3 and your donation is tax deductible. They are worth it.

Thank you so much, SRWHMG.
