Acknowledging Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Columbus Day

As we acknowledge Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Columbus Day, we celebrate the initial inhabitants of this land, encompassing Native Americans as well as wild horses. Unfortunately, wild horses continue to face disdain rooted in misconception. We emphasize the importance of accurate terminology: if wild horses are considered ‘feral’ after 500 years, then human settlers must accept the same designation.
