ANOTHER fire

August 19th @ 12PM

Another FIRE very closeby ignited last night- from lightning strikes. It is just 4 miles away from our property right now, so we remain on high alert and in pre-evacuation mode.

It is burning in the rolls close to Butcher Jones and Probecito right now, approximately 1000 acres. This is not the same fire as the Salt Fire. It has been named the Rolls Fire.

The Forest Service is on it, zero containment as of yet. The danger for Salt River wild horses, as well as to our property, would come if this fire jumped Bush Hwy. Help us hope that it doesn’t! We know the Forest Service is working very hard. Bush Hwy will be closed at Saguaro Lake and the 87 Beeline will be one lane only.

This picture is from the day before yesterday looking towards the rolls and 4 peaks. 4 Peaks was burned by the Bush Fire last month. The burn in the front is from the Goldfield fire that was contained just last week. There is still so much fuel to burn.

This fire season is absolutely terrifying. We want to thank Arizona Equine Rescue Organization (AERO), who are staying on standby mode with us and the AZDA (@AZDASaltRiverHerd) who are staying on standby mode with us, and of course all of our amazing volunteers who will drop everything, to be there for the Salt River wild horses.

On high alert,
SRWHMG.
