It’s the baby’s first rain, and it’s been coming and going for two days now — with even more on the way tonight. We’ve been closely monitoring the band, (Iroquois band).

Here they are, gathered together, with the baby lying down on the right. He’s a little cold, but we are grateful this didn’t happen in his first few days when he was playing catchup because he got his colostrum so late.

He’s a strong boy now so he will be just fine and yes — we’re counting every single one of your votes.

Tomorrow, he will have his name! Thank you everyone for voting! (Voting is closed)

☕ Checking in before heading out…

Here we are, sitting at Starbucks, gearing up to go check on Moonshadow’s baby after last night’s heavy storms. ️. And it’s still raining now!

We just want to make sure he’s safe and good before we announce the name that you all voted on! Your votes mean so much to us, and we can’t wait to share the name once we’ve confirmed he’s doing well. ❤️

There’s other volunteers abd supporters outthere as well, wish us luck — rain boots, raincoats, and lots of hope!

️He’s Alive and well! ️We find sunshine in the rain!

As you might imagine, its not easy to find them in the vast hills of the Tonto National Forest…especially in the rain, and then when you do, identifying them is even harder! But from way far, Moonshadow’s baby was spotted running around — so he’s survived the three-day rain storm we’ve been having! ️

Rain like this is rare in our neck of the woods, and as long as the little guy is ok, we’re so grateful for the rain. Every sighting each day reminds us how resilient these wild horses are. ❤️ And now for the fun part: Join Simone for a LIVE Facebook feed to finally announce his name, chosen by all of you!
