BREAKING: Apache Sitgreaves Forest Service begins trapping Alpine wild horses tomorrow!!
July 5th
BREAKING: We are very sorry to announce that the Apache Sitgreaves Forest Service has made the completely wrong decision for the public, for their budget and for the horses! They will begin trapping the first 20 beautiful Alpine wild horses tomorrow!!
We have offered our humane birthcontrol program in order to preserve at least part of the Alpine herd for the public, but to no avail. The Apache Sitgreaves Forest Service will continue to let them have babies, only to remove them!
Even while it is completely against federal law NEPA to do this without an EIS and without public input, (which our attorneys have written to the Forest Supervisor) they will begin baittrapping beautiful bands of Alpine wild horses with young foals, as soon as tomorrow, and they will be sold as soon as next week! They will be taken out of their 9000 ft elevation cool climate in Alpine, down to hot Holbrook where it is 110 degrees! This extreme climate difference in itself might kill them, especially the young foals.
If you do not agree with this, help call for a stop to it and for humane management instead! These are historic Arizona wild horses! Call governor Doug Ducey and the media and your representatives and senators and anyone else you can think of who can help! (Please just Google their office numbers)
Humane management is the right choice for our Arizona wild horses, cruel removals are not! Thank you for your help in sharing this! It is important!
