Cori’s band, with moma Acacia second from the left and lead stallion Cilantro watchful on the bank. We are watching them, and they seem subdued, but horses don’t have a real way to express grief or any other emotion. That doesn’t mean they don’t have it. Acacia is losing weight which is a sign of depression, which we’ve seen many times before. Wild horses have a deep emotional consciousness.

Thank you for all the sweet condolences. The band will be ok and so will we all, with time.
