Domestic horse drowns in Salt River.

Beware, MCSO is removing a deceased horse out of the river, please give them space. Please know this is NOT a Salt River wild horse.

It is a domestic horse that got away from his owner during a trail ride, and sadly he drowned. This is so tragic and our sincere condolences go out to the owner of the poor sweet horse.

The Salt River can be very dangerous for trail riders and their horses, as it has sudden deep pockets and eddies. Not all horses are as adept at swimming as the Salt River wild horses, who do it every day.
