Family dinnertime!
Feed stations or no feedstations, these moms are feeding their offspring the best organic meal available; healthy homegrown green spaghetti! (River eelgrass)
These are not accidental pictures! Mares really do offer the eelgrass to their offspring, who don’t learn how to snorkel until they are older. (We are not sure why it takes the youngens so long to learn to snorkel)
Have you ever seen a wild horse snorkeling for its dinner? Salt River wild horses are amazing! If you go kayaking on the lower Salt River right now, you will almost certainly find some mares doing this. Have a great time while giving them their space, as well as a little respect. 🐴😍🐴
