Honesty in Our Convictions

When we submitted our proposal, we didn’t sugarcoat it.

Yes – we knew we had to satisfy the removal requirement. And yes – we acknowledged that horses, like all wildlife, have at least some environmental impact.

But we also told the full truth.

The Salt River wild horses live on just 0.07% of the Tonto National Forest — a tiny fraction of a fraction, did you know that?

We spoke about all of the natural benefits the horses provide.(See slide)

And we didn’t forget to mention the one species truly responsible for widespread environmental destruction: humans.

We stand by these undeniable truths.

That is why we have to credit the AZDA (Arizona Department of Agriculture) and the deciding committee for choosing the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group — even if they may have disagreed with parts of our proposal.

Our full proposal is here: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

We stand by every word. Do You?

This amazing recommendation letter by Sheriff Sheridan was submitted as one of our professional referrals and we are truly grateful for his support and the support of our amazing MCSO Lake Patrol unit and Deputy Clint, who is always ready to step in when there’s a horse emergency. MCSO’s dedication makes a real difference out on the river, which as a whole is a very challenging area.

If you’re grateful for the partnership that keeps the Salt River Habitat safe, drop a thank-you in the comments so they can see the community support behind this work.

Thank you! SRWHMG
