Humane management includes many different aspects, and so many different situations happen daily.
Humane management includes many different aspects, and so many different situations happen daily, that we cannot possibly update on everything.
From big issues, like an abandoned horse on Bush Hwy, or a deceased beloved horse, to little things, like closing open forest gates, pushing horses out of danger areas, picking up trash and dousing unattended fires left in the forest, like this one last night.
With our large volunteer force, we monitor the horses daily, help them cross the roads when necessary and we are available for horse emergencies 24/7, through our hotline, (480) 868-9301.
This campfire was left actively burning and unattended last night. Our Road Patrol put the fire out. This is an important reminder for all of us to be responsible guests of our Tonto National Forest. Do not leave unattended fires, and please don’t burn items with nails, like pallets. One spark flying could cause a disastrous forest fire and endanger the horses we love.
