It’s a labor of love.
We are grossly underpaid, terribly overworked, under appreciated, get bashed for no reason, and no one really knows how much work goes into our programs, and what it takes to keep them wild and free.
We go the extra mile, get stuff done in the nick of time and we win by the skin of our teeth, every time. We are proving that there is a better, easier, more sustainable, more efficient, more humane and cheaper way to manage wild horses. But its an exhausting battle, and it’s hard to believe that in 2024, we still have to fight it the first place.
However, when you see them peacefully munching away on their eelgrass, and you see how much the public is cherishing them, you know it will all be worth it in the end.
This Labor Day we want to let our volunteers know that they make a real difference.
“The greatest wisdom in life is knowing the difference between right and wrong, the greatest purpose, is fighting for what is right, and the greatest reward, is knowing you make a difference!” – Simone Netherlands.
Happy Labor Day!!
