It’s been a challenging Memorial Day weekend.
May 31st
Wild horses had to deal with crowds, with lots of trash and also some very inconsiderate people, but they are all OK.
We have manned the Sheep’s crossing gate (because it has no cattle guard), we have continually closed all gates to the forest that were left open, and we have fed and checked on all bands of horses.
The fire on 87 is contained, the crowds are going home, and even the horse with the mask in his mouth has managed to lose it.
We want to thank MCSO and Forest Service Fire personnel and Law enforcement for the vigilance this weekend.
We hope that everyone gets home safe.
