JH tried to Euthanize Shadowfax, back when she was our Salt River horse liaison.

JH tried to Euthanize Shadowfax, back when she was our Salt River horse liaison.

Unfortunately she has lied about it for years, to everyone and claims it was Simone instead. We have always taken the high road, because we try to avoid drama, at all cost, but since JH is so good at lying and slandering, (and she now wants to manage Salt River wild horses), it is time to offer some evidence. This is the phonecall from 2019, in which Simone asks Jackie why she is making SRWHMG volunteers leave, and JH answers “because the horse, (SF) has to either be removed or dispatched” , and , “I’m headed to the river, I’ll just take care of it”.
JH was our first and worst Salt River Horse liason and she tried to ruin our programs from the inside out. She was trying to hurt us constantly, by trying to euthanize horses unnesesarily, making our volunteers cry regularly, and she was making up things about us, to the Forest Service, and other advocates, which she still does today.

We had to start documenting how she tried to “take us down” and we had to start recording phonecalls, to protect ourselves. It has been completely insane dealing with her vendetta and it still is. We have so far never released any of the phonecalls, but we will, if she continues to fabricate things. Please know that even when we can’t say anything, everything she says about Simone and SRWHMG, is 100% fabricated.
Eventually, we went to the Director about JH aggressive behavior, and they were shocked. There should still be a “do not hire” document with JH file at the AZDA. Jackie also sued the AZDA over “overtime”, and she was never rehired.

Ever since, we have had amazing Salt River Horse Liaisons, including our current liaison. While sometimes horses do need to be humanely euthanized as a last kind act, it’s always after careful consideration in partnership with AZDA, never as a way of power or revenge.
Shadowfax obviously did not need to be euthanized. He had an abcess on his head that looked ugly, but any wild horse expert would give a horse time to heal, instead of shooting him right away.

That day, it was SRWHMG and MCSO who had to stand in between JH and Shadowfax, and we are forever grateful. Shadowfax recovered quickly and lived happily with his family for 3.5 more years in the wild.

Eventually, he lost his band and was rescued for old age issues and teeth issues. He is 30 yrs old now, but still alive, happily retired at SRWHMG facility. Long live Shadowfax and the Salt River wild horses.

Thank you for listening.

SRWHMG.
