Sadly according to SRP , (Salt River Project) this is the last day of 800 CFS (Cubic Feet per Second) in the Salt River and it will be at 8CFS (1%) by October 30th. #Srp #srpconnect
Why? Because they switch the river system from the Stewart Mountain dam to the Bartlett dam during the winter. Why instead do they not combine the two river outputs, and leave a minimum of 100 CFS in the Salt to save aquatic life, the underground watertable and the ecosystem? Because they do not have any environmental consideration or provision in their management plan.
We have asked for an environmental clause of 100 CFS minimum, but their answer was no. We do not know how to answer when you ask us why, because we are just as puzzled as you. We will keep reporting to you from the Salt River.
Thank you for caring. SRWHMG.
