Meet Simone Netherlands, a fierce advocate for the wild horses of the Tonto National Forest. In 2010, she founded the Salt River Wild Horse Management Group, starting with just a camera and a passion for capturing their beauty. But when the Forest Service proposed removing the horses, Simone and her team stepped up, leading protests and rallies to protect them. Today, Simone continues her fight, speaking to committees and communities across Arizona. The group has even implemented a humane birth control program to manage the population responsibly. She believes these wild horses bring joy to countless visitors and is dedicated to ensuring future generations can experience their magic.Visit Mesa
