SRWHMG update: No news is good news, very good news.

July 5th @ 8PM

If things didn’t go up in flames, you didn’t get sick, and you didn’t lose anyone or anything you love, well, then you count your blessings that you get to live another day in paradise. Appreciate everything.

Here’s why we were thankful today. This is Coon Bluff, the start of Wild Horse Habitat, in the Tonto National Forest. One and a half acres in the rec area burnt yesterday, caused by fireworks. It was in the afternoon when we had volunteers in the forest close by and many, many bands of horses.

The close calls keep getting closer. Thank you Forest Service and MCSO for putting out the fire so fast, and for the great enforcement this weekend.

Fire restrictions are in effect and some offroad parts of the Forest are closed, because of the extreme fire danger. It means no campfire, no charcoal, no BBQ, no fireworks.

PEOPLE. PLEASE. BE. CAREFUL. Because there are some things you can never take back.

Be safe, everyone. SRWHMG.
