This GivingTuesday: Keeping families together, that’s what it’s all about!

November 29th

Keeping families together, that’s what it’s all about. 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴

After Black Friday and Cyber Monday, today is Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving where you can make a real impact. Many organizations will ask you, but we hope you’ll consider helping wild horses today, as they are being treated so unfairly.

We want you to know that we, SRWHMG, are an efficient organization, in that everyone in SRWHMG is a volunteer, therefore 0% of your donation goes to salaries or expensive offices, and 100% goes towards rescuing Alpine wild horses, and humanely managing the Salt River wild horses. This makes your gift worth every penny.

We have accomplished a lot this year, but there is so much more to do. Sadly, the Alpine wild horses are at this very moment being removed by the Apache Sitgreaves Forest Service, and next weekend again, they will be sold online with no limitations on slaughter, by Rail Lazy H, the contractor for the Forest Service.

It is an outrage how these historic horses go from their home on public lands, to homeless, with the worst of fate’s looming if we don’t rescue them. With more funds we can bail out more of these precious horses. The situation is truly desperate.

Of course at the same time, we cannot do any less for the Salt River wild horses. We continue to manage them humanely and keep them wild and free. Our important programs, like our our fertility control program, our road patrol, fencing maintenance and our habitat improvement program, set the better example of humane management. We make the difference because we are doing the hard work in the field, we accomplished what we set out to do; within 4 years we have reduced the population humanely and stated off any and all removals.

Our rescue facilities give permanent sanctuary to both injured Salt River wild horses as well as Alpine wild horses who were so sadly taken out of their homes. But hay prices have risen to twice as much as last year.

On days like today, we rely heavily on YOU, the public, to try and change the course of history for wild horses. Roundups and removals are not humane, not fiscally responsible, and not necessary!

We need a huge army for wild horses, and we hope that today, you will become part of it. Your gift gives hope for all wild horses everywhere, and will enable us to continue to fight for them. Thank you from the bottom of our many hearts.
