This is a killbuyers trailer, it’s both for cattle and horses. This poor horse spent all night in this trailer pacing up and down. He’s an old Paso Fino, discarded like trash.

This killbuyer did not come to our Alpine auction, but he went to the Navajo auction 3 miles up the road where they are selling Navajo wild horses along with cattle.

As long as there is money in it, people will continue to truck horses across Arizona borders to Mexico where they await the worst of the worst. It’s appalling. And it’s not just killbuyers fault. It’s the attitude that horses are disposable. This year we are going to lobby our AZ legislators hard to end this.

We can’t save them all. But we saved this one. We went up to the guy when he started his truck, negotiated a little and paid $750 for him, which is the same as he would have gotten at the slaughterhouse.
