Water Management, The Environment, and Wild Horses

SRP (Salt River Project) has no environmental clause for the management of the lower Salt River, from Stewart Mountain Dam, to Granite Reef Dam, and it is usually kept at 0 to 8 CFS during the winter. (Compare this to the average of 900 CFS during the summer.)
It pains us every year to see the river reduced to just a trickle and see the river eelgrass rot and die, which is an amazing resource for the horses. The impact does not just pertain to the horses of course, but to all wildlife, aquatic life, plants and trees along the river as well, not to mention tourism and kayaking. We do understand all of the reasons for the extreme highs and lows, of which most is based on paying customers. We are just saying, that if we all care about the environment of the lower Salt River, water management is what impacts it the most, and we ask politely that SRP take a look at making some provisions for the environment.
