Why are the Salt River wild horses not scared of humans?

Q.
Why are the Salt River wild horses not scared of humans?
A.
Because they’ve had to learn that in order to get a drink and survive,
they have to put up with the two-legged creatures in and around the water.
It’s nothing recent- it’s just a species evolving and doing what it takes to survive. There are millions of people recreating on the Salt River and most of those people have been nice to the horses. Blaming SRWHMG is highly ignorant, hostile, and ridiculous. Our volunteers keep a bigger distance now than in 1980.
Our 50 ft guideline is the perfect distance to keep the horses and the people safe and respecting each other. Thank you, everyone!
Support the horses; they’ve been here longer than we have.
