Wild horses, wild flowers and wild weather!
March 15th
Everyone please be careful as SRP is releasing huge amounts of water from Bartlett dam right now and this makes the Salt river below Phon D run fast, and as as high as 9000 cfs. As far as we know all Salt River horses are staying safe, and they are very smart. However we have had horses drown before (Halftail) in extreme high water like this, so we do keep our eyes out for them. If you see a horse in trouble please call our hotline 480-868-9301.
The rain however is very welcome, as it has finally brought good forage to our desert!
