The U.S. Forest Service-Tonto National Forest is on top of every fire in record time
Now this is one thing the U.S. Forest Service-Tonto National Forest excels at. We see them be on top of every fire in record time, before it gets out of control and burns down the beautiful lower Salt River area. Let us tell you that this is no easy area, these hotshots had to walk into this area 3/4 mile before they even got to the fire! No firetruck can get there. We heard them working hard with chainsaws etc. and it was nerve-wracking, but they did not give this fire a chance. However, because its smoldering and its very windy, they are still working to reduce further risk. Please thank the hotshots of the Tonto National Forest!
Also please a thank you to our Road Patrol team, who are outthere day and night, who have called in many starting fires over the years, and have helped in countless people emergencies, many accidents and have found lost persons and even deceased persons etc etc. We are there mainly to keep horses safe ofcourse, but by being there when no one else is, we help keep people safe too! (no authorities are patrolling the area at all late at night) SRWHMG are the only ones out there! And we will keep doing that, because we know we make a difference!
P.S We call this area of Phon D, the Fantasy Island Meadow. Many horses used to live there, but it is not part of their habitat anymore now. Without horses, we saw this area become very overgrown, compared to when horses lived there. More about that later, because wild horse fire abatement is real!!
