A Happy Grace Update 💛

Many of you may remember this special Easter story from a couple of years ago—and for those who are newer to our page, we’d love to share it again, along with a happy update. 💛

Grace was a dumped Thoroughbred mare, found one cold February night by one of our volunteers along Bush Highway during a final evening check. She was standing there alone, quietly waiting… Our emergency team quickly stepped in and brought her back to our rescue property, where she was finally safe and warm.

She was incredibly sweet, around 15 years old, and we named her Grace. What we didn’t realize at the time—because she was so emaciated—was that she was carrying a little secret.

As she slowly regained her strength, Easter morning 2024 brought a surprise none of us will ever forget… Grace gave birth to a premature foal who needed immediate medical care. We named him Breyer, inspired by the Breyer horse models that helped support our online fundraisers.

With time, patience, and so much love from all of you, Grace made a full recovery. Breyer overcame his early challenges and absolutely thrived—growing stronger every day.

We were incredibly fortunate when a Thoroughbred sanctuary in Utah, fittingly named Saving Grace, welcomed them both. Even more special, they’ve stayed in touch and continue to share updates with us.

And now… here they are—Grace and Breyer, two years later, celebrating Easter together. 🐴✨

grace and breyerFrom a cold roadside rescue to a safe and happy life, their story is one of resilience, second chances, and the power of compassion. Thank you for being part of it.

We will put the link to our original video of Breyer’s first moments here.
