Humane wild horse management means we’re always keeping a close eye on injuries in the wild—most of the time they heal naturally. But when suffering won’t end on its own, and we are authorized to step in, we will. In those urgent cases, when an injured horse or orphaned foal has been saved, we provide emergency medical care and have saved many lives! We will provide medical care without limits, as well as feeding and monitoring around the clock, until the horse or foal has made a full recovery.

Our beloved wild rescues came to us from desperate situations and with time and healing become happy little family bands. That now live safe, happy lives surrounded by care and love from our SRWHMG Care Team.

Our rescues aren’t shy about showing how they feel—if a volunteer stumbles, they rush over to check in on them. If they’re playing and running in the arena, they make sure to include our volunteers in their joy by running to us, so we can tell them how beautiful they are and say Hi. And while birthdays aren’t all that thrilling to them (except for the treats, of course 🎂🍎), they sure do know how to celebrate something else—weather changes and the recent rain!
