We have all made the comment at one time or another, “Look at his mini-me,” and you yourself may even have been referred to as someone’s “mini-me.”

We have a few mini-me’s on the river, but none is as noticeable as Warrior. Warrior is the offspring of Maverick and Posey, making him the half-brother of Coyote and Poppy. Born in March 2017, it took only one look to see a miniature Maverick. The dark coloring, strong build, and nearly identical personality all made Warrior the very definition of a mini-me.

Posey and little Warrior were stolen from Maverick once he was getting too old to defend a large band, and by the time Warrior was just fifteen months old, he was emancipated from that band.

Thankfully, a group of bachelor stallions took in the young, lost soul and made him one of their own. Eventually, together with that bachelor they acquired a band of their own. Warrior is not the lead stallion, but the lieutenant. While Warrior seems content in that role for now, don’t be surprised if one day he becomes a great lead stallion, just like his father.
