When we first found this sweet, fuzzy boy dumped at the river, it was hard to imagine what he had been through. Alone, neglected, and left behind… yet still so gentle and trusting. Horses like him deserve so much better.

Thanks to your incredible kindness and donations, his story is already beginning to change. He’s had bloodwork done, the farrier has carefully trimmed his hooves, and he’s finally receiving the love, care, and nutrition he so desperately needed from our caregivers.

Day by day, he’s starting to feel safe again.

And now, this sweet boy finally has a name that matches his gentle spirit…

Teddy Bear.

During his veterinary evaluation, we also discovered that Teddy Bear is suffering from laminitis, a painful condition in his hooves that will require careful, lifelong management. Because of this, Teddy Bear will never be able to be ridden. When the time is right, we will begin searching for a very special adoptive home where he can live a quiet, comfortable life simply being loved and cared for as a companion.

Despite everything he’s endured, Teddy Bear still leans into a gentle touch and looks at people with soft, trusting eyes. Horses like him remind us why this work matters so much.
