Foolishly, the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest (ASNF) posted a notice on their website for the 13 horses subject to the TRO to be sold at Cleburne auction again this Wednesday July 31st. Rest assured that has already been changed on their website and there won’t be a sale of these Alpine horses, until the court decides what to do with them.

Unfortunately federal laws are severely lacking in protecting these horses from the horrors they are being put through, but the one thing they did against federal regulations is “not properly posting impound and sales notices”, and that hinders us and the public severely. That is the main jist of this Fridays hearing.

Yesterday SRWHMG and AWHC also filed an amended complaint that includes all of the atrocious injustices of the past 2 years, including the self dealing and shill bidding and refusal to allow horse advocates in her own online auctions. By doing this JH ended up with all the horses for 25 dollars and then she was selling them later herself for 1000 a piece and even held a mustang makeover public auction, which she threw us out of on the basis of “private property”.
This behavior is not only fraudulent and discriminatory, but also an offense against the Forest Service itself, since federal regulations specify that sales have to be at lowest cost and most profit for the Forest Service. We will be asking for an evidentiary hearing on these facts also, which we have kept really good track of. There are also many of you who can testify to being refused in her auctions for no reason.

Last online auction there is a good example of shill bidding, while we thought the person bidding $1600 for Conchita and foal was a good home, it turned out that JH ended up with them and wanted to exchange them for Fox and foal! Let it sink in that she is the one bidding against rescues in her own auction to drive the prices up. It is so corrupt as she can see everyone’s maximum bids, because it is her own website. There simply are no other homes for these horses than the ones we and our supporters arrange for. Later we heard that Fox’s foal had to be euthanized, so it was far from the happy ending we hoped.

Unfortunately, the 13 horses in limbo are still under JH’s control and we do not know their status or where they are. We gave them notice to properly water and feed them and have a veteranarian treat them with antibiotics. However, if they don’t, or if the horses are in worse shape than before, or dead, that will make for a very strong animal cruelty case against the ASNF.

There will be a 1 hour hearing on Friday August 2nd, 9.30 am, and the public is welcome to attend remotely, as well as in person at the federal court house!

We are inviting everyone who has an interest in these beloved Alpine wild horses! They are treated so appallingly by the ASNF and their contractor Jackie Hughes (JH) and we all cannot just let it go on. So if you have a stake in it, please share this please everyone and everywhere!

P.S. JH was also trolling so unprofessionally all over our page, and is lying about horse advocates and defaming our good name. After her sarcastic comments were screenshot, we finally blocked her.

There is no link yet to participate, but there will be one soon, so please stay tuned!
