Earth Day Campfire Ban

Tomorrow on Earth day, April 22nd, a campfire ban will go into effect earlier than normal in all 6 national Forests, including the Tonto National Forest where the Salt River wild horses roam. Forest Fires are a constant worry for us during fire season. Great decision by the Forest Service. For more info, click this newspiece from 12 News, written by Hunter Bassler.

“In an effort to lower the number of man-made fires, the Southwest Region of the Forest Service is enacting a campfire ban order throughout all of its forests, including all six Arizona National Forests.
The order includes all igniting, building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, including charcoal grills and barbecues, coal and wood-burning stoves, the forest service said in a press release. It is set to begin tomorrow, April 22, at 6 p.m.”
