Help find a home! German Shepherd found in Phon D area

During our long hiking trips to find Bruno and Archibald the other day, we also found this gorgeous German Shepard running scared and confused in the Phon D area. Of course, after making sure Archibald was okay, we had to stay and rescue this beautiful boy too!

He was a real challenge to catch, as he had chollas all over his legs, and was running away from us instead of toward us. Abandoned or lost dogs, after they are loose for a while, become so frightened that they cannot be caught by hand. The HART organization responded to help us also with a trap, but after 4 hours of patiently gaining his trust , one of our volunteers was able to get a leash on him. Another life saved. (Maybe we name him Bruno, after Archibald’s loyal friend.)

He is now happily with an SRWHMG volunteer, but she cannot keep him, because her own 2 dogs are not happy about it. We have checked and he does not have a chip and he is not neutered. Most of our volunteers have already adopted one of our abandoned TNF dogs or cats, so we are taking responsibility for finding this boy the perfect home! If he is actually lost, then we would love to hear from the rightful owner and see proof of ownership, and how he got lost.

This is one sweet soul of a dog and he has separation anxiety now, so we will only consider the best of the best home for him, where he lives indoors, with access to a yard, and where someone can be home with him. He will be someone’s loyal companion for sure! If you know anything about him, or are interested in adopting him, please contact us in pm. Thank you!
