They are very scared, and u cannot blame them after the frightening way people have treated them so far. What will happen next, is they’ll get time to de-stress and adjust, and learn that Kourtney is their best friend.

Elephants and wild horses, they realize what death is, and they mourn deeply. They pay their respects usually for an entire day, first her own family band, but then other bands come too.
Although not required under our contract, this initiative is crucial for ensuring the horses’ as well as the public safety along the Salt River!
Every year, when the AZ temps have killed all the grasses and weeds, the horses clean them up. After that, and after the river gets turned down, there will be very little left to eat.

The defamation of small and medium rescues and or sanctuaries serves no purpose other than to hurt the horses. Without donations and sponsors those horses cannot stay safe in the homes where they are currently thriving.

These 13 Alpine wild horses, now 12, were subject to our TRO which was not upheld by Judge Tuchi.
Salt River foals are afraid to stick their faces under water and they take the eelgrass from their momma’s and other band members until they learn to do it themselves between one and two years of age.
Mori’s road to complete healing has been very long and very expensive, but also very worth it.

Lindor’s band lost a beautiful family member and we feel like we did too! We are so sorry to report that Cascara was the dead horse floating in the river yesterday.

We are disappointed that Judge Tuchi lifted the TRO, because the fact that the USFS is shipping Arizona wild horses to killpens in Texas is unconsionable.

The Apache Sitgreaves National Forest is trying to violate a direct Judge’s order by posting the Alpine sale for this coming Wednesday, July 31st.
Zen lost everything at the hands of the actions of the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest and it’s contractor, and we lost a truly magnificent specimen of a historic wild horse, so close to his storybook ending.

It’s killing us, it’s killing our volunteers, our supporters, our community, the town of Alpine, and thousands of Arizonans and Americans from everywhere. Killing these beloved historic wild horses is like killing our American spirit!
Americana, whom we freed from the lasso around her neck the other day, is doing great and here is her band crossing the river this morning!

All nine pairs of Alpine mares and foals from the online auction, have arrived at their rescue destinations, and we are so thankful to everyone who took in a pair, or more. Except it is all totally messed up!
This mare has a lasso around her neck with 30 ft trailing behind and another mare is limping with rope burns around her legs in the same band.
We can only pull off miracles like his with public support!
The word “Feral” is a favorite word by wild horse opponents to try and degrade wild horses to a lesser status, like feral cats. However, the word itself doesn’t hold any biological or scientific meaning, so we usually just ignore it.
All of our affiliate horse rescues combined won the bid on nine out of the ten Alpine mare & foal pairs!
With just 4 HOURS to go, many of the fundraisers we promoted for the rescues have NOT reached their goal to be able to BID on these mares and foals!
It was so awesome to finally get back to the river and spend the morning with the Lindor fam!
