(PHOENIX, A.Z., August 27th 2024) – Salt River Wild Horse Management (SRWHMG) and American Wild Horse Conservation (AWHC) welcome the dismissal of a second lawsuit, filed by the Center for Biological Diversity and trophy hunting groups against the US Forest Service (USFS) as a major win for the Salt River wild horses.
The second lawsuit against the Salt River wild horses has been dismissed!
“Wild horse advocates say the U.S. Forest Service violated federal statute by providing inadequate notice before rounding up and auctioning 13 unowned horses from the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.”
We are disappointed that Judge Tuchi lifted the TRO, because the fact that the USFS is shipping Arizona wild horses to killpens in Texas is unconsionable.
Live from the Courthouse: Q and A with Simone!
The hearing on the fate of these horses is scheduled for tomorrow Friday, August 2nd, at 9:30 am, and it will be open to the public who can listen over the phone. Call 855-244-8681 and put in Access Code 2305 337 5206.
Today we are still filing reply and preparing for tomorrow’s important hearing for the Alpines!
There is no link yet to participate, but there will be one soon, so please stay tuned!
If everyone who cared a little, gave a little, and shared a little, we would be able to accomplish a lot!
The Apache Sitgreaves National Forest is trying to violate a direct Judge’s order by posting the Alpine sale for this coming Wednesday, July 31st.
We did not post a fundraiser for tonight, BECAUSE we were too busy drafting court paperwork, which our attorneys filed today and we -Just now- were granted a Temporary Restraining Order!
Just comment and share if you care!
Many horses are all SAFE, thanks to ALL who donated, THANK YOU for saving lives together!
We can help to save only a few of them at this time. Please share this fundraiser and donate any amount, because if everyone of our followers donated 5 dollars, we could save them all!
What you and the Apache Sitgreaves Forest service have done, is not only unconscionable, but also 100% against federal regulations and this is why we are getting a TRO today to save these horses, who are dearly beloved by Arizonans.
These horses are the catalyst of all that is wrong with our federal government. We are working to expose this unscrupulous cruelty, paid for by our tax dollars. Please help!
Everyone please pull out all your stops to find some angels to save them!
The option of horse slaughter for our icons of the American West should be OFF the table!
The first lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice, and yet the Center for Biological Diversity filed basically the same lawsuit, but this time it is over the fee agreement for the Salt River horse liaison.
If you’d like to understand exactly what happened with the Salt River horse lawsuit, Courthouse News explains it the best. Please share, thank you! https://www.courthousenews.com/judge-dismisses-challenge-over-salt-river-horse-herd/

March 21st SB 1057 if passed, would make slaughtering and killing Alpine wild horses illegal and it would open a process of negotiation for their humane management. August 24th Can everyone see through this Apache Sitgreaves Forest Service and how they try to fool the public?
